“Truly the voice of millions of women can be heard throughout these pages. It belongs in every school library and the title poem, Chant of a Million Women, should be memorized by every girl (and boy) in every country, its theme, “my body is a temple” chiseled in every heart and holy place across the Earth.”

“I received a free copy of ‘Chant of a Million Women’ for an honest review.  I enjoyed all the poems in the book, the author of which is obviously a champion of women’s issues.  The poems focus on many problems which affect women worldwide, for example rape, male dominance, the ‘glass ceiling’ which women have difficulty breaking through, and physical and sexual abuse.  My three favourite poems were The ‘Major Minority’, ‘The Closet Rapist’, and ‘Chant of a Million Women’.  Women make up half the world’s population, and Shirani Rajapakse speaks for them all.”
